Dive info: Tulamben

Location
Tulamben is located in east Bali. once a dry barren land now is flocked by scuba divers from all over the world for its signature wreck dives, the USS. Liberty

The Major attractions in these areas are :

  1. The USS. Liberty

    The USS. Liberty is a 120 meter long (393 feet) cargo vessel. The US government equipped this vessel with a pair of guns in the world war 2. The ship itself was torpedoed by the Japanese in 1945s while en route to Singaraja. Now it serves as homes for fish and coral.

  2. The Resident Barracuda

    The resident barracuda can usually be seen in morning and late afternoon dive. Despite its menacing appearance, the barracuda itself can be quite friendly. it allows divers to come quite close to it. It usually hangs around just outside the stern of the USS. Liberty.

  3. The Bumpheads Schools
    The bumpheads can be seen in the very early morning dive and night dives. They usually be seen in the cargo compartment of the ship in around 15-20 meters depth.

  4. The Schooling Trevally Jacks

    The schooling trevally jacks can be seen anytime during the morning dives. It can get to the numbers of thousand of thousand of jacks swimming and making a ball of fish.

  5. Huge Coral Growth

    The coral in here can be very colorful and get to a considerable size. This is due to the fact that Tulamben sits close to Mount Agung, the highest volcano in Bali. In 1960s the volcano erupted bringing huge amount of minerals and stones into the sea, making the sea a good medium for corals.

  6. Exotic Small Animals

    other than the big fish Tulamben Also serves another kind of attractions, the exotic and colorful small animales such as the Harlequin Shrimps, Nudibranch, and mimic octopus.
